Summary

June 18, 2025 – DMC Technology was honored to welcome two engineers from an open-pit coal mine in Russia for a comprehensive site visit and technical exchange. Yukon Wei and Dong Yan warmly welcomed the two visiting engineers.

What stood out most was the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the visiting engineers. Determined to gain a thorough understanding of our products, they covered an impressive average of 200 kilometers per day over the course of two days to visit two widely separated locations.

Following the field visits, the engineers toured DMC’s headquarters and production lines, where they praised our strong R&D and manufacturing capabilities. During the discussions, they shared insights into a critical challenge they have faced: steel cord conveyor belt splice failures.

In our experience, splices are often not handled by the same crew, resulting in inconsistent craftsmanship and varying quality. Poorly executed or non-standard splices can lead to cord movement. When this occurs, voids appear in the splice area—visible as light-gray gaps in X-ray scans—indicating that the affected cords are no longer bearing tension. The load is then unevenly transferred to other cords, increasing stress and eventually causing the entire splice to deteriorate and become unsafe.

DMC's Steel Cord Conveyor Belt X-ray Fault Detection System is specifically designed to address this issue. It can precisely detect steel cord movement and other internal belt anomalies, issuing early warnings to help prevent belt breakage and ensure operational safety.

This visit not only strengthened the technical exchange between DMC and international partners but also reaffirmed our commitment to providing intelligent, reliable solutions for the global mining industry.
